Appeal sends gas-theft wrongful death suit back to Bay.


Dec. 31–The First District Court of Appeal gave a 2003 wrongful death case new life Thursday.

William Michael Davis filed suit in May 2003 against Bruhaspati Inc., doing business as Petro Food Mart; Atulbhai Patel; Kamlesh Shah; Manjulaben Patel; Cleatous Carter and Gregory Carter.

Davis sued on behalf of his daughter Pamela Denise Davis, 30, and her two surviving children.

According to the lawsuit, Gregory Carter fueled his father’s 1989 Cadillac at the Petro Food Mart at 7415 State 77 on Nov. 23, 2001, then allegedly left without paying for the gas. Shah and Atulbhai Patel got into the
