Family of man killed by North Charleston police to get $69,950 The city of North Charleston will pay Edward Snowden’s family $69,950 to settle a wrongful death lawsuit filed in 2001, a year after two North Charleston police officers shot and killed him at a Dorchester Road video store, attorneys said Tuesday. The officers were responding to an October 2000 call that men were attacking Snowden in the Millennium Video parking lot.
