The families of Gov. Mel Carnahan, his son Randy and aide Chris Sifford reached a $1.6 million settlement Monday with Cessna Aircraft Co., manufacturer of the campaign plane that crashed in October 2000. But the agreement between the Wichita, Kan.-based airplane manufacturer, its parent company, Textron Inc. and the families settles only part of the wrongful-death litigation that grew out of the deadly plane crash near Hillsboro.
