May 24–FORT WORTH — An 18-year-old Venus High School senior celebrating the last days of school with classmates died at a Fort Worth hospital Tuesday, less than an hour after being pulled from Burger’s Lake in northwest Fort Worth. Tony Lot, a member of the National Honor Society who would have graduated Thursday, was pronounced dead at noon at Harris Methodist Fort Worth hospital, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office. A ruling has not been made on his cause of death, but police say it appears to have been an accidental drowning. Lot and nearly 100 of his fellow seniors were on a school outing at the popular private swimming pool at 1200 Meandering Road when the tragedy occurred. “They had completed their tests and their exams,” said Superintendent Elizabeth Treadway. “They were having a senior day, celebrating… |
